I’m Alana, the artist behind Nalani Jones and I’m a surface pattern designer who loves to create bold and contemporary designs with captivating color palettes. With a life-long passion for creativity I’m always brimming with ideas of what I can create next. 

My love for art and design started at a young age, as a child I can remember being enthralled with my grandmothers abstract paintings and as a teen I was infamously cutting up my dad’s Rolling Stone magazine collection to create a collage on my bedroom walls (sorry dad!). After completing my studies in graphic communication, I began my career as a graphic designer for a marketing agency but have since committed all my energy into following my passion for all things surface design. 

My designs are inspired by the beauty of nature, and botanical elements are at the heart of my art. My work can be characterized by bold, graphic shapes and striking color combinations that give them a modern edge.

When I’m not working on my latest design project, I enjoy spending time with my children, exercising and eating healthy, snowboarding, learning new things, and buying all the plants! I’m passionate about living a life of authenticity and I believe everyone needs creativity in their life.
